You can use podcasts for education, self-improvement, and entertainment. I am a firm believer in self-education and podcasts are great tools for this. That’s why it was about time that we gave you 7 podcasts to listen to on Spotify.

We made a balanced podcast list with topics that will enrichen your life on personal development, financial freedom, and also podcasts that will release you from stress.

Let’s dive in!

The Joe Rogan Experience

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the most listened to podcasts worldwide, receiving millions of listeners per episode. The podcast genre is talk. Every episode a quest joins Joe for a talk. There is a lot of variance in guests and topics. From Miley Cyrus to Elon Musk, you will find more than enough diversity within Joe’s podcast.

Joe Rogan is known as a comedian and commentator of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). You can recognize his origins in his podcast style. Joe is like your older brother with bad influences. He feels familiar and triggers his quests with his unorthodox and rude approach. For instance, he smoked weed with Elon Musk. Something the shareholders of Tesla really didn’t appreciate.

The episode with Elon Musk is my all-time favorite. Elon explains a lot about the future of humankind and how he believes we will one day inhabit the planet Mars.

Brene Brown Podcast

Brene Brown is the author of multiple #1 New York Times bestsellers including ‘The Gift of Imperfection’.  She works at the University of Houston as a research professor where she holds the Huffington Foundation. Brene has studied the subjects of courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy for a long time. Now it was time she passed her knowledge onto the rest of us and a podcast was the perfect tool for this.

This podcast is for you if you want to get more out of yourself. Brene combines knowledge and research with practical tips and advice. If you truly want to get ahead in life, you first have to invest in yourself!

Your Mom’s House Podcast

Okay so you know how to inhabit Mars and how you can win through vulnerability, it's time to relax a bit and get rid of your daily stress. That's why we have selected Your Mom’s House as the entertainment and relaxation podcast.

The Your Mom's House Podcast is hosted by the married comedian's couple Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitsky. The podcast is very successful and keeps attracting more listeners to it. It was such a success that Tom and Christina decided to tour around the US and Canada with their podcast.

The power of their success lays within the ‘7th-grade humor' that Tom and Christina apply in their show. It’s easy to listen to and you won’t need any form of serious focus. You should definitely try this out whilst doing the dishes or walking the dog. It will relax you!

And don’t worry, they are funnier than they look…

Jay Shetty – On Purpose

Now Jay Shetty is an interesting story because Jay is a former monk. A what? Yes, a monk. Nowadays Jay is mostly known as an author and purpose coach. The main topic of his podcast is purpose. Now in my opinion this is one of the most important aspects of life. You’ve got to find your purpose!!

Without purpose, you will never find happiness or peace in your daily life. It's a psychological need that must be fulfilled. The On-Purpose podcast attracts next level guests with interesting thoughts about purpose. To name a few of the guests: Kobe Bryant, Khloe Kardashian, Ray Dalio, and Gary Vee!

On Purpose is a personal favorite from which I learned a lot. Jay hosts his show in a very professional way. He listens well, gives good follow-up questions, and lets his guests finish their sentences. Make sure to check this one out because it might very well change your entire purpose.

Podcasts of the BBC

Looking for a variety of entertainment? The BBC has your back! Admittedly, not all podcasts are great but there are quite a few good ones on the BBC. You won't find me in the latest celebrity gossip podcast but if it's your cup of tea, you can find those too. However, if you are more like me and want to learn a thing or two then you'll want to check out Radio 4 podcasts.

There will be all kinds of topics discussed like: how to vaccinate the world, a green world, or perspectives from faith. A highly educational channel that will enrichen your general knowledge and perspective on the world.

Crime podcast: Serial

We finish our podcast tips with a niche-specific podcast. Are you interested in the world of crime and the thrilling stories behind it? The Serial Podcast is the absolute centerpiece of this world. The host of the show, Sarah Koenig, will tell you one story per season. In every episode, you will get a piece of the story about a committed crime.

Serial is an investigative journalism podcast focused on crime. Meaning all the stories you will be told are real! For instance, season one is about Hae Min Lee, an 18-year-old student from Baltimore who got murdered. Every episode you will be told more about this case in a very intriguing way. You will want to keep listening, trust me on that.

At this moment there is a total of 3 seasons containing 10-12 episodes per season.
